Today we are going to talk about one of the most inspiring startup of India, expending very fast in other countries too in accommodation industry. Yes, you are right we are talking about OYO, fastest growing hotel chain network in India.



Motive to Start OYO


OYO was started with the motive to provide best accommodation with the best features like clean room,
clean washroom, well set bed, curtains, and more. The founder visited many hotels and saw where there is clean room having service problem, if the service is good then washroom is not good enough. He found that, there is vast problem in finding a good hotel rooms in affordable price. He tried to solve this problem by proving best accommodation in affordable price.

One of the most inspiring personality in my life named as Ritesh Agarwal, Founder & CEO
of OYO Rooms. He is an Indian Entrepreneur, who is going to create worlds largest hotel chain in the coming years, he has created Indian’s largest hotel chain. In his early stage of life he got to know about the word Entrepreneur and got desperate to know the meaning and wanted to become this called Entrepreneur. When his 10th completed rest students was busy in finding a good high school for their 12th but our founder he was busy in travelling and moving Northern India to explore it and experience it. At that time he talked many hotel owners and more big peoples which helped him in building his company.

How OYO..?


After travelling various places, various hotels, various breakfast and more he launched Oravel Stays in 2012 to enable listing and booking of budget accommodations with tieup hotels. Later on in the year 2013 he pivoted "Oravel" to "OYO"

After the launching of Oravel Stays, Ritesh Agarwal received a grant of $100,000 as a Part of Thiel Fellowship from Peter Thiel, they are the founder of PAYPAl. He was the 1st Indian to have this Theil Fellowship when he was in college. A fellowship who pays for not going to college, seems very interesting and he got selected. With the help of this $100,000 he operated his operations more fastly in more cities and later on OYO pushed up.



Acquisitions and partnership


#.In the year 2018, Oyo acquired Chennai- based service apartment operator Novascotia Boutique Homes marking its !st major buyout.


#. In the same year,2018 it acquired Weddingz.in , a Mumbai-based online marketplace for wedding venues and vendors making its entry $40 billion wedding industry.

#. In April 2019, OYO announced a strategic global distribution partnership with bedbank Hotelbeds. And two joint-venture with Softbank and Yahoo! Japan.

#. In May 2019, OYO announced the acquisition of Amsterdam-based @Leisure Group, Europe’s largest vacation rental company.

#. In August 2019, OYO made its major investment in the United States by Purchasing the Hooters Casino Hotel.
